Our Central Coffee Growers Cooperative of Huila - Coocentral was created 45 years ago, nonprofit, with a direct business, fair, and sustainable business model, it has allowed us to reach the world with a top-quality product, it is a coffee that drives us and inspires us. We produce the best mild coffee in the world!
OUR COFFEE
We cultivate Arabica variety coffee with dedication in each of our farms, productive land, in the shade, with gently washed, between 122 and 1950 MASL (Meters Above Sea Level), in the middle of high mountains, with different microclimates and volcanic soils; these conditions allow us to obtain coffee beans in a truly exceptional way.
CERTIFIED FARMS
All our farms are Fairtrade certified by FLOCERT and most of them have various complementary seals such as Rainforest, 4C, C.A.F.E. Practices, UTZ and ILLY. These programs aim to improve the working conditions of coffee growers and reduce the environmental impact of their work.
WE EXPORT WORLDWIDE
Our coffee has been exported for years to different parts of the world such as the USA, Europe, and Asia, and it has been roasted by the most recognized brands in the world: Starbucks, Peet's Coffee, Illy, Laughing Man (the brand of Australian actor Hugh Jackman) among many others. Also, it has received multiple awards for its quality in several parts of the world, for example, ‘The best UTZ-labeled coffee in the USA market -2010.’
ROASTING AT ORIGIN
In 2015, we started our brand of roasted coffee, Coocentral Coffee, through traceability, we can provide to coffee lovers one with quality, fresh, and freshly roasted. The coffee experience from seed to cup is our responsibility, our job, our ritual, and our passion.
NEW GENERATIONS
In addition, they are carefully selected and roasted by young people, children of coffee growers, they have been trained to complement their inherited knowledge from years of family experience in the coffee-growing world.
HUILA PROTECTED DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN (PDO)
We have certification of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) for having unique cup attributes. Delicate profile, bright acidity, medium-bodied, sweet notes, and caramelized fruity aromas. These are always the characteristics of our coffee.
DIRECT TRADE
While you enjoy a carefully produced and roasted coffee, we can get the full commercialization profits as there are no middlemen. These resources go directly to our community, to be reinvested in projects that seek the common good.
